My name is Emily Wright (yes, cue the jokes about my name). I was born to design. Which I realize is a fairly bold statement to make, so I will qualify it. When I was little, I used to be asked all the time by strangers, "do you have a staring problem." Now, I'm not entirely sure what a staring problem is, but I assume it means I have no control over where I look. Which is far from the truth. But I do stare, I spend hours of the day when I'm not busy being distracted by the things around me; trying to figure them out; how they're made; how they work; how I can make them better. But I digress.

Back in 2009 I was struggling to find my way in the world. I was working as a Nursing Attendate (and believe me, those skills are applicable in just about every feild). Anyway, I ended up back at MacEwan after reading accounts of how much alumni had enjoyed their time in the Design program. It just seemed to fit and I think I had always known deep down that this was what I wanted to do: to shape the world we live in.

First and foremost, I am an artist. My skills translate into illustration better than other forms of graphic design. I am working hard to make my designs speak for themselves using reductive and modernistic styles. I know that the more I work the more my personal style will be expressed through my work and for me, it's all about making a statement in a classic way that never goes out of fashion.
